We are actively working on developing our own open-source client, which is a time-intensive process. OpenVPN is considered less efficient and is outdated in many respects. Therefore, we have decided to exclusively use WireGuard, which offers better performance, simpler configuration, and more modern security protocols. WireGuard has advantages over OpenVPN, such as lower latency, a simpler codebase, and better energy efficiency.
